Alcorn's Hunter Haven is located in the Panhandle (northwest corner) of Nebraska 11 miles south of Hay Springs, NE. We are located between the beautiful Nebraska Sandhills and the forest area we call the Pine Ridge.
One hundred miles to the north, lies the ever-famous area of the Black Hills of South Dakota, home to the "faces" of Mount Rushmore, carved on the mountain, the Crazy Horse monument being carved into another mountain, and Deadwood, the old west gambling town. Historic landmarks close to the Hunter Haven are the burial site of Crazy Horse, the heart of "Old Jules" Sandoz territory, Sheridan Gates and Camp Sheridan, Carhenge, Chadron State Park, the Fur Trade Museum, and the Oregon Trail.
A one hour drive takes you to the historic Fort Robinson State Park, where you can ride horses, bicycle, eat buffalo steaks in the historic lodge, hike, fish and visit the museums. Fly into Denver or catch their connection to either Chadron or Alliance, NE which are both 35 miles from our house. Rent a car from Denver or we will pick you up in Chadron or Alliance. All roads lead to the Hunter Haven!
